Coral Calcium and Robert Bare foot

Robert Barefoot (Bare foot to some) published a book called The Calcium Factor in 1991 that suggests that Coral Calcium contains amazing healing properties. The fact is that the calcium component of coral calcium is no different that the calcium you would find from eating leafy greens grown in the mid-west. However, it is true that coral calcium supplements contain trace minerals that "normal" calcium supplements do not contain. It is because of these trace minerals that some, with nutrtitional deficiencies of such minerals may experience benefits in their health when taking such products.

Detractors of Robert Barefoot tend to not consider these factors and just focus on the fact that a bag of fertilizer contains the same calcium carbonate. While Robert Bare foot's own claims may be dubious, the "quack watches" typically shown their own lack of objectivity and lack of actual nutritional knowledge. When researching Coral Calcium, it is important to realize this and ignore the zealots on both sides of the fence. Do your own research and purchase calcium supplements, or improve the calcium intake in your diet with your eyes wide open.

In 1994, both houses of US Congress passed the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act which encourages YOU to learn about nutrition and the links between it and good health. The fact is that the average American's diet is high in sodium, fat, processed sugar, preservatives and low in nutrition. Improving you diet means improving you nutrient intake but also means limiting your exposure to foods which are not of benefit, and possibly harmful, to you.

So research Robert Bare foot yourself. Go to the library and read his books. Compare what he says to other studies and decide on the potential benefits of coral calcium for yourself. Quack watchers have their own agenda and are probably not trust worthy at face value. Take any data you find from them and check the facts just as carefully. They're very likely to mask data in favor of their opinions as well as the people whom they claim to be "watching."
