Medical community gains knowledge on battling osteoporosis (The Uniontown Herald Standard)

“When I started in orthopedic training, we knew osteoporosis existed but we didn’t have a good way of measuring what osteoporosis is. We didn’t have a good understanding of why it occurred and we had a limited capacity of what to do except fix broken bones,” said Dr. Owen Nelson, orthopedic surgeon. “In a mere 20 years, things have changed drastically.”
